Position Overview

Currently the MITS Office is planning to hire three Educational System Engineer, two are mainly focuse on supporting Taicang Campus, and one are mainly focus on support SIP campus.  For the Taicang campus, the successor supposed to base in SIP Campus at the beginning and move to Taicang Campus in Sept. 2022.  Please take work relocation into consideration before submitting your job application.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Trace, review, implement and promote academic project;

  • Support educational hardware and teaching room rebuilding;

  • Support to build academic research lab and studio;

  • Support learning and teaching software in teaching room and computer lab;

  • Support IT equipment in classrooms/computer labs, including computer, projector, A/V, and network;

  • Support academic learning and teaching services;

  • Support research project (TDF, RDF, SURF, NSFC, etc.) and research institution of university;

  • Support High Performance Computing platform;

  • Support IT training, workshop and seminar;

  • Collect and research new educational technology and academic platform;

  • Take part in IT service Induction for new student and staff;

  • Support Academic Committee and Group;

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent education;

  • Oversea education background or working experiences would be a plus;

  • At least 3 years work experience with computer teaching or training or at least 5 years work experience with IT project.

Position Overview

Current the MITS office is hiring 2 System Engineer but for different location. One will be based in SIP Campus, another will be based in SIP Campus first and move to Taicang Campus in Sept. 2022. Please take work relocation into consideration before submitting your job application.

Roles & Responsibilities


Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes;

  • Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.


Acquisition & Deployment

  • Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems;

  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions;

  • Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts;

  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.


Operational Management

  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems;

  • Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams;

  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies;

  • Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems;

  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications;

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records;

  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems;

  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems;

  • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports;

  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.


Qualifications

  • The Systems Engineer will have a bachelor’s degree and 4 years of System Engineering experience, or associate degree and 6 years related experience, or 8 years related experience.

  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.

  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.

  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

Position Overview

Application Researcher need to develop new software applications and update existing applications. This role processes users' needs to customize the software for computer programs, designs prototype applications, implements, and tests source code and troubleshoots software applications. The role responsibilities include a plethora of activities including Designing applications, Coding applications, Updating applications, Testing products for functionality and errors. Ensure the reliability of the system architecture, the availability of the functions and the security of data.

  • Responsible for product design and development of PHP, Java or .Net platforms;

  • Participate in the overall technical framework discussion and provide constructive opinions;

  • According to the specific difficult problems in the system, targeted technical research;

  • Making and execute software development plan, and submit high-quality code and standardized design documents and development documents on time;

  • Complete the main module development work assigned by the project manager;

  • Evaluating existing applications and performing updates and improvements;

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The role of the XJTLU Application User Experience Officer is to liaise with customers and provide them a premier system service. This process will involve tracking customer requirement , interacting with customers and coordinating with all internal stakeholders to improve the customer experience. Acting as a software project manager in a cross-department virtual team, responsible for making development plan and work strategies, and playing an important role to ensure the development, management and overall success of information system.

  • Collect and identify requirement from customer to pinpoint the gaps in customer experience for all kinds of application/web; 

  • Act as the point of contact for all user interactions, comments and questions, providing them premier user and customer service support and interaction for all needs;

  • Liaise with internal teams, such as application R&D,Maintenance and others to ensure that gaps in the customer experience; 

  • Research competitors, create related competitor analyses related to user experience, and recommend areas for improvement in the XJTLU application customer experience;

  • Collect, track and analyze customer feedback and suggest improvements internally based on the insights gathered;

  • Provide project management and communication with customers and related  stakeholders;

  • Responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining project plans and agendas;

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects;

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks;

  • Report and escalate to management as needed;

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals;
